Check out this sculpture!

October 1 – November 19, 2018
Jefferson Market Library
425 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10011

From October 1 through November 19, in conjunction with the city-wide festival “Reimagine,” Richmond’s solo exhibition “Check out this sculpture!” will be on view at the Jefferson Market Library.

For the past 4 years, Richmond has been working on her project “Like the Back of My Hand.” It has encompassed illness and loss, and also solace. She wanted to encourage interaction with the sculpture, and found the ideal place: Jefferson Market Library. We invite you to check out a hand sculpture—take it home, hold it, and perhaps you will find your own story of loss and creativity. And, if you like, share a photo of Richmond’s hand in yours on Instagram, with the hashtag #checkoutthissculpture. When you return the piece, Richmond will use it to create new artwork, continuing its lifecycle.

On Monday, October 29, at noon, Richmond will present a panel discussion for “Reimagine” titled "Good Grief: artists and writers share stories of loss and creativity." Come and contribute your story to the conversation! Jefferson Market Library, Willa Cather Room, first floor.
