I will be teaching a new course in May and June at ICP: Photographing the Personal Bubble in NYC

I will be there for a month this winter as a Visiting Scholar/Artist. SO excited!

The Gallery at Calit2 at UCSD produced a beautiful catalog of our exhibit Overheard. You can purchase the catalog or download the PDF_Overheard_Catalog.

Many years ago, when I was in high school, I won an award that, like many other young artists and writers, gave me a lot of “creative courage.” I was asked to display my newest book Art Without Compromise* in a show of past winners, and if you scroll down to WRITING, you will see my name  on a short and impressive list.

Kathy Cartwright has a wonderful blog. When my book came out, she did an in-depth review. She later told me that it elicited one of her most lively discussions with her followers. We recently did an interview on her blog. This was great for me, because, as I told her,  I am a big believer in asking questions. It’s a very generous thing to do, and I recommend it to my students and colleagues. Ask each other questions: a well-considered question is more generous and helpful than giving advice.

I really appreciate this review in the Collagist of my new(ish) book Art Without Compromise* and my recent show Overheard with collaborator Michael Chladil. It is one of the rare reviews that makes the connection between my artwork and my writing. It’s a smart take on what I am trying to do.
